In the Cup
Limu is where Ethiopian coffee began its commercial journey, and this washed Grade 2 lot from the Jimma zone carries that heritage with pride. Balanced and approachable, it opens with warm spice and a gentle wine-like acidity, transitions through walnut and caramel in the mid-palate, and finishes clean and sweet. Produced by the Limu Inara Cooperative, 180 smallholder farmers cultivate semi-forest coffee under native shade canopy at 1,500-1,900 meters. This is the roaster's workhorse Ethiopian — consistent, versatile, and endlessly satisfying whether served as espresso, filter, or cold brew.
SCA Cupping Protocol
Evaluated by two independent SCA-certified Q-graders using a blind cupping protocol. Every attribute scored on a 10-point scale.
Total Score
84/100
Scored using the SCA Specialty Coffee Association cupping form. Attributes rated on a 6–10 point scale; uniformity, clean cup, and sweetness rated as 0 or 2 points per cup. Disagreements of more than 3 points trigger a third evaluator.

Meet the Producer
Jimma Zone, Limu, Ethiopia · Est. 2008
The Limu Inara Cooperative was founded in 2008 by 180 smallholder farmers in the Jimma zone, one of Ethiopia's oldest and most prolific coffee-growing regions. Limu coffees are prized for their balanced, approachable profile — the everyday Ethiopian that roasters love for its consistency and versatility. The cooperative's washing station sits at the confluence of two spring-fed streams that provide year-round clean water for processing. Members cultivate semi-forest coffee under native shade canopy at moderate elevations, producing beans with a distinctive spicy, walnut character and smooth caramel sweetness. Limu Inara invests premiums in irrigation infrastructure and a community seed bank that preserves rare local varieties.
